Mike Valdez serves as Chief Business Development Officer with the NAAAP National Administration. In this role, he oversees, coordinates and manages all activities related to NAAAP’s fund-raising efforts.

Mike’s began and continues his involvement with NAAAP in Chicago starting 2004 as a member in the Midwest Asian Affinity Business Network (MAABN) program, now Asian Affinity Group Leaders (AAGL). Through this involvement, he began to understand first-hand how NAAAP Chicago focuses on creating an open forum for Asian American corporate leaders throughout Chicago and the surrounding areas. Having served on NAAAP Chicago’s Board as Director of Corporate Relations from 2005 to 2007, Mike assumed the role of Director of Affinity Groups in 2008, was elected as Treasurer in 2010 and as Secretary in 2013.

Professionally, Mike is a Vice President with the Northern Trust Company in Chicago. With over 25 years of service, he currently is a Regional Banking Administrator. Mike also serves as Global President of the Asian Leadership Business Resource Council within the company. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Elmhurst College and a Masters in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management.

He resides in Crystal Lake with his wife Karen and two sons, Ethan and Harrison. Mike is a strong advocate for diversity & inclusion and a believer in giving back to the community. In 2013 Mike was chosen by the United Nations “Do One Thing” slogan contest committee and presented his winning slogan to the Second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, Azerbaijan.
