Scott Wong is a senior staff writer for The Hill, where he covers House Republican leadership on Capitol Hill. He’s written extensively about the conservative plot to oust Speaker John Boehner, the rise of Speaker Paul Ryan, and the GOP divide over Donald Trump.

Before joining The Hill in 2014, he spent four years at Politico, where he covered the Senate and wrote a tipsheet on Congress called The Huddle. He got his professional start in journalism covering local government for two small newspapers in his native San Francisco Bay Area. He later wrote for The Arizona Republic, including stints covering the statehouse and Phoenix City Hall.

A graduate of UCLA, he is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association, and lives with his wife and two daughters in Washington, D.C.
