"INSIGHTS"

2nd NAAAP National Convention Corporate Advisory Board focused on Asian American Multicultural Marketing…

The NAAAP National Convention Planning Team conducted the second Corporate Advisory Board “Insights” session on July 13, 2007.  Corporate representatives from various companies such as Sodexho, McDonald’s, Wachovia, Bank of America, AT&T, Newell Rubbermaid joined NAAAP members in an informative session focused on Asian American Multicultural Marketing and updates on convention planning.

The co-chairs provided updates on convention planning progress including deadlines for programming space submissions and specific details related to sponsorship, marketing, logistics, registration, workshops and the career fair.  With almost a month left before the 2007 NAAAP National Convention, the team outlined key dates for material submissionthat sponsors should note.  Please link to the presentation for additional details. –> NAAAP Convention CAB_71307

Corporate Advisory Board provided “insights” to APA recruitment….The first Corporate Advisory Board “Insights” session was held on June 7, 2007.  Over 20 participants from our sponsors and NAAAP supporters dialed into the WebEx/teleconference session and received valuable updates on the convention planning progress in addition to gaining some insights into Asian-American recruitment and retention.The first session of the two series Corporate Advisory Board “INSIGHTS” session started with information on the convention planning progress from the co-chairs related to sponsorship, marketing, workshops and the career fair.  During the next half an hour, Michael Lee, an expert in APA diversity and marketing, provided insights to a topic of interest for many of our sponsors, “How to Attract and Retain Asian Pacific American Professionals in Today’s Market”.In his presentation, “How to Attract and Retain APA Professionals“, Michael gave the current state assessment of of Asian American labor demographics (e.g. % of Asians in the labor force, educational levels, types of work, % in management/leadership roles, etc.).  Michael then covered the challenges and strategies for companies to recruit and retain Asian American talent in today’s economy.

Michael Lee has been speaking about selling to multicultural customers for nearly two decades. He is an award-winning salesperson and sales manager who is the author of four books on building relationships with culturally diverse buyers. Michael is the first Asian American to earn the Certified Speaking Professional designation in the history of NSA and is often called as an Expert Witness in court cases where culture is an issue. He is also an expert on multicultural marketing having been a Marketing Director for the State of California and a Producer for the ABC Television Network.
