(Atlanta, Georgia) – The magical and enchanting Phoenix takes flight, ushering in a new era in charitable fundraising. The Atlanta chapter of National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP-Atlanta) is set to host the 10th annual Chopstix for Charity event, in conjunction to the NAAAP National Convention, on Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 6:00pm to 11:00pm at the beautiful SunTrust Atrium, 2 walking blocks from Hyatt Regency Atlanta hotel, in Downtown Atlanta. The Phoenix, a mythical bird that rebirths itself as a stronger and more beautiful creature, will be the theme of this years gala representing a renewed and recharged spirit for the event.

The semi-formal event boasts a larger venue and an itinerary of events more exciting than any of the previous years. Scheduled events and entertainment include, a mock casino with black jack, craps and roulette, DJ, a feature band, raffle, silent auction, buffet-style meal with a taste of Asia theme, open bar, a lion dance display, and plenty of giveaways.

Chopstix for Charity strives to raise corporate and general awareness about the needs of local Asian American non-profit services and cultural organizations, with the mission to connect corporations, small businesses and individuals to directly aid Asian Americans in the metro Atlanta community.

In 2006, Chopstix for Charity lured in more than 400 guests and raised $30,000, in which 100 percent of all corporate donations and net proceeds were awarded to 20 local, non-profit, 501©(3) organizations and providing programs to Atlanta Asian American communities. The awarded organizations and programs promote education and Asian culture/heritage, address advocacy issues, and provide social services for the Atlanta Asian American community.

This year, Chopstix for Charity will be celebrating 10 years of raising funds and awareness for the Asian-American Community.
